Newspaper Agency Company LLC Deploys Speech
Newspaper Agency Company LLC, JOA agent for Utah's two largest newspapers, deploys the VoicePort speech recognition application CircPort, to field circulation phone calls.
Pittsford, NY. July 18, 2006. The Newspaper Agency Company LLC (NAC) went live today with VoicePort's OnPremise CircPort, enhanced with a CTI component by Upstream Works. Callers to the circulation departments of the Deseret Morning News and The Salt Lake Tribune will now be able to handle routine transactions with voice recognition. The two Utah newspapers have a combined circulation of over 200,000 daily.
CircPort is just one of NAC's planned improvements to their subscriber services. A customer portal, WebPort is scheduled to go live later this year. Both applications will be integrated directly to NAC's GEAC database, allowing customers to access their account to handle routine transactions in real-time. By increasing the availability of their services, NAC seeks to improve customer satisfaction and retention.
"Many newspapers like the Deseret Morning News and The Salt Lake Tribune have made the switch from touch-tone systems to speech recognition," said Tom Dunne, Vice President of Sales at VoicePort. "We are thrilled to add these two newspapers to our list of live CircPort customers."
"CircPort will not only decrease our costs, but improve our caller experience," said Steve Gunn, Customer Service Manager at Newspaper Agency Company LLC. "We are excited to go live with speech today, and we are looking forward to the results."
