Honolulu Star-Bulletin, a Black Press Ltd. newspaper, picks VoicePort's circulation IVR, CircPort, to automate circulation phone calls with voice recognition.

Pittsford, NY. October 24, 2006. Honolulu Star-Bulletin, a Black Press Ltd. newspaper, has selected VoicePort's circulation IVR, CircPort, to automate circulation phone calls with voice recognition. With a circulation of over 64,000, the Honolulu Star-Bulletin is the oldest, continuously published daily newspaper of Hawaii.

The CircPort voice recognition application automates routine transactions such as vacation holds, delivery problems, payments, address changes and more. Once CircPort is deployed, Honolulu Star-Bulletin subscribers will have the ability to access their account 24/7. The application is directly integrated to the newspaper's MediaSpan circulation database, eliminating the need for agents to re-key information.

The Honolulu Star-Bulletin will utilize the hosted version of the CircPort application, CircPort OnDemand. VoicePort was the first to offer a hosted IVR service to the newspaper industry, allowing customers to reduce the associated capital outlay, while paying only for the minutes used in the system. More than 40 of VoicePort's current customers employ CircPort OnDemand.
