Pittsford, NY. August 18, 2006. The News & Observer of Raleigh, North Carolina deployed Nuance SpeechAttendant, the industry's leading speech-enabled auto attendant solution, through VoicePort.  The McClatchy Company newspaper employs over 1,200 people.

SpeechAttendant allows both internal and external callers to reach their intended party by simply saying the name of the person, department or region they would like to reach. It eliminates the need to remember extensions, rely on cumbersome touchtone "spell by name" systems, or wait for an operator. The News & Observer will benefit from reduced hold times and operator costs in addition to increased employee productivity through time savings.

SpeechAttendant is the industry's most accurate and natural speech-enabled auto attendant application.
